Uncovering AlUla: The Epic Adventure of AlUla Trail Race 2025

AlUla Trail Race 2025 brought together more than 1400 trail-running enthusiasts from around the world, showcasing the stunning beauty and rich history of this unique location. This event continues to redefine adventure and celebrate the human spirit.



With participants from 78 different nationalities, the race was a vibrant blend of cultures, stories, and shared passion for the adventure of trail running.


A Global Stage for Adventure


In its third year, AlUla Trail Race has established itself as a truly international event. The diverse backgrounds of participants and spectators created a lively atmosphere that echoed the spirit of unity and adventure. Runners brought their individual stories and motivations, all united by one goal: to explore the remarkable landscape of AlUla.



The mix of experienced athletes and newcomers fostered a sense of camaraderie that extended beyond the trails. The joy, shared experiences, and common goals highlighted that the weekend was more than just a race; it was a celebration of connection and exploration that transcended borders.


January 23rd kicked off the event in AlUla’s historic Old Town. Participants eagerly lined up to collect their race bibs, and excitement filled the air.



Kids Run (1.6 KM)

One of the most uplifting moments of the day was the Kids Run (1.6 km) , designed to inspire young runners. Families came together to support their little athletes, fostering a love for running early on.




Sunset Run (3KM)

As the sun set, participants took part in the Sunset Run. This 3KM run offered a preview of AlUla’s breathtaking scenery, with the sunset illuminating the landscape in stunning gold and orange hues. The experience provided a peaceful and motivating start before the main race.



The stunning interplay of light across AlUla’s impressive terrains created a memorable atmosphere, energizing participants for the following day’s challenges.



On January 24th, excitement filled the air as participants faced four thrilling races:


Hegra Hundred Trail (100KM)

The ultimate challenge for dedicated athletes, the Hegra Hundred Trail provided a rigorous route to experience AlUla’s stunning landscapes. It attracted elite runners, showcasing remarkable endurance.




AlMejdar Trail (50KM)

The AlMejdar Trail took runners through breathtaking vistas. Participants reported stunning views and a challenging course, with them achieving their personal bests.





Elephant Rock Trail (23KM)

The Elephant Rock Trail offered a moderate challenge, leading runners past one of AlUla’s most famous landmarks. Participants enjoyed the area's unique rock formations and geology.




AlUla Oasis Trail (10KM)

The AlUla Oasis Trail featured a serene 10KM run. Participants relished the tranquil views of lush palm trees. Each race provided a chance to experience AlUla’s diverse natural beauty.



These trails weren't just tests of endurance; they celebrated AlUla’s rich cultural heritage. Runners admired ancient historical sites and the stunning geography, making every step worthwhile.
